meet our creative muse, ashley

We are constantly inspired by creative people doing creative things, and Ashley Aaldyk is one of them. She runs a pop up vintage photobooth called "The Dirty Laundry Club" and co-runs a Experiential design studio, Dalmatian Hotel, that specializes in editorial spaces, shoots, and special days

We were happy to collaborate on a fun shoot with Ashley' and her favourite picks from Bhabsy as well as ask her some questions! Here is what she had to say:

As someone who is constantly on the go and has a lot of creative endeavors.. How do you decide where to put your energy and divide your attention? How do you deal with being passionate about many things?

I try and take each project day by day, and work through my lists in pieces. It does seem like my to do list is never ending, so working in small bursts, especially when I feel creatively energized toward a specific project is helpful.
I don’t limit myself to one or two projects; I enjoy the process of each and allow myself time towork on all of them in a way that works for me.

What creative endeavor or project are you most proud of?

I am most proud of “The Dalmatian Hotel” simply because it is a complete amalgamation of all of the things I love in one place. I feel as though it has become an avenue for my creative output in a way that is accessible to others. I am grateful to have developed a strong team and network of other creative individuals to share these projects with, adding an extra layer of fulfilment to each
process.

What’s inspires your work or style lately (whatever way you want to take it) ?

I am really inspired by mid century or post modern design styles. I take reference from editorial photographers like @bytianamichelle and designers like @crina_architecture or brands and campaigns. I have also been taking inspiration from places around me and the feeling they give, and trying to implement comfortable, accessible design into my work in a beautiful way.

What is exciting you about the future?

I am excited to expand my project resume and challenge myself to learn new skills. I have
adopted a specific focus on accessibility in architecture and third-place making, and I am excited to explore these ideas further.
